Shanto Datta, a young man, has been murdered. Police informed that he had been strangled. He was the son of Suresh Datta, of Sitara, a village of Sadar upazilla of Manikgang. He was putting up at Savar at the house of Subhash Datta, his brother-in-law. Shanto was engaged in trading in gold. Subhash said that miscreants attacked and looted the gold shop jointly owned by them, and made away with gold worth five lac taka. Shanto was murdered when he resisted the miscreants. |

An adolescent daughter of Bhabesh Gopal Burman, a trader in fried rice, was raped by two miscreants. The social elders arbitrated and ordered the miscreants to pay a fine of taka twelve thousands. The money was to be given to Bhabesh Gopal. But, Bhabesh Gopal finally didn’t get the money which was taken and misappropriated by the said elders. |

2 decimals of land owned by Deepankar Lahiri, a journalist, have been grabbed and his mother and a former commissioner of Natore Municipality, has been beaten up. Deepankar Lahiri is the news editor in charge of daily Amader Samoy. Manjuri Lahiri opposed when Khandoker Mansur Rahaman, a neighbour and anassistant teacher of a government primary school went to put up fences across land owned by Deepankar Lahiri. Then she was beaten up. Police later on arrested Fatema and Rakibul Islam—wife and son respectively of Mr. Mansur Rahaman, after a case had been filed. |

Sanadul, Al Amin, Abul Bachhar and his wife, Jyotsna, were arrested on charges of abduction. 1.5 lac taka ransom money was demanded after Pallab, the only son of a small trader, was kidnapped. |

A group of neighboring people is conspiring to evict the whole family of Prabodh Das, an old trader in fried rice, by turning his natural death into a case of murder. Mr. Prabodh died of heart failure. Ahsanullah, a neighbour, had a long-time plot of grabbing the land of Mr. Prabodh. He is now trying to make good use of his death. |
